i officially completed the 2005 MS Bike Tour. i got my medal and all. things got off to a shaky start as we did not make it the start line until AFTER they had already closed it (not my fault, but long story). so we got a SAG car to drive us to the first rest stop (8 miles into the course). we took it from there to the end.

overall it was a great experience. we made it to JP Park under 4 hours – wind is never a problem on day 1 (har har har). we stayed in a hotel this year. i wanted to camp out again but the room was really impressive and i got used to the comfy bed quickly.

we met some interesting people. 2 of, if not the most funniest guys i’ve ever met – Scott and Bob ! Bob is a triathlete who lost his wife to cancer 2 years ago and speaking to him was truly inspiration especially after the week i had. i am now considering doing my first sprint triathlon this summer so i will:

- start working on my swimming as soon as possible
- improve my riding

hopefully my fractures will be all healed up by June so the running part of the event should not be a problem.

the wind kicked our sore asses on day 2 and i was ecstatic as we finally turned onto the street leading up the finish line. but i can honestly say i am looking forward to doing it again next year. i’m a glutton for punishment !
