jose and ted ran the weston 5k in the morning. i came out to show my support and cheer for them since my foot is “technically” still fractured and i am not “SUPPOSED” to run. also, i was trying to heed ted’s warning that he would lock me in his trunk if i showed up in running clothes. it was a hot and humid day in south florida and i felt for all the runners. jose and ted did so well though ! i was so proud ! wahoo ! happy day !!

our friends joined us at the beach in the afternoon. we were all mildly disappointed – missing the typically warm florida sun – but still managed to have a grrreat time ! we then had a yummy dinner at sukho thai !!

a few of my friends completed the florida half ironman this weekend. i drove up to orlando to show my support.

i turned 27 this weekend ! Jose, my ex (and future) boyfriend, planned a surprise party for me ! wahoo !! unfortunately (or rather fortunately) i found out about the party before i could secretly skip town.

my party was awesome ! most of my friends were there, even psycho monkey – a gift from another (not so sane) ex boyfriend.

i had yet another appointment with my podiatrist today. he sure is making money off my foot. the visit lasted a total of 3 minutes.

doctor: your foot looks swollen. have you been running ?
me: nope
doctor: well, don’t run on it for another 4 weeks.
me: ok
doctor: and keep it wrapped (as he wrapped my foot)

hey doc, what happened to “try to run in two weeks” ? what a tease… good thing i didn’t run last night (or this morning) !

it was a beautiful south florida weekend. my friend and i decided to hit the beach. we had SO much fun ! we ran on the sand, played in the water, fought big waves and took home a fair share of beach with us. my favorite part however, was our exfoliation experience ! my friend and i rubbed sand all over our bodies and helped each other with the “hard to reach” spots. it was heaven – free body facials and pedicures – whoa ! this would have probably cost us $100+ at a spa ! we had so much that we decided to do a repeat of it on sunday. my skin feels SO soft and smooth

the cast finally came off today ! i was terrified on my way to the podiatrist because there was a chance he’d leave the cast on. luckily, that was not the case and my foot was set FREE !! YAY !!!

the doctor said to try running in two weeks. um… that’s what got me in this mess in the first place but he said to only run ONE mile (what a workout !!). he also said to see him in two weeks (of course).

as it turns out, my insurance company has denied every claim since i was diagnosed with chronic ankle instability. they’re calling it a pre-existing condition so that’s one battle i will have to fight in the coming weeks. for now i am procrastinating…
