r.i.p. quintana roo
at first glance, i knew the front wheel and fork were shot but i never thought my tough aluminum frame would have suffered much damage.
well, i finally heard back from the bike shop. the frame is bent. can you imagine the hit it must have taken ? ugh. the poor thing.
although our relationship was short, i enjoyed each ride we shared. all five of them. all 130 miles.

Poor Q-Roo… And, yes, that must have been a quite a hit to damage the frame. Again, I’m glad YOU’RE okay!
I’m sorry to hear about the bike, Liz.
But we’re thankful you’re okay.
(Oh, glad to hear about the new bathroom ceiling too!)
I hope the driver is replacing the bike. Are you going to race your road bike?
Did I miss a post? What happened to your post?
I meant bike not post!
thank you so much for all of your kind words. i am doing much better but after seeing my doctor and reviewing my ct results, we’ve decided it’s best that i drop out of the race. my head/neck suffered some damage. i am currently on strong pain medication. i can’t function without it. plus, i am still limping around. on top of all of that, my road bike was already going through a minor overhaul.
Ian, the driver’s insurance is supposed to pay for the bike but you know how insurance companies are. the bike shop has sent them all of the information they requested. i am now waiting for the adjuster to get back to me with a settlement amount.
Mary, i’m surprised you missed the post. i crashed my bike last sunday. you can read about what happened here.
I still just cannot believe what happened to you… and the aftermath. I’m so mad at the guy who caused the accident!!!
But please promise me you will keep thinkin’ positive! I am sending good and healing thoughts your way, emotional AND physical.
*HUGS*
I just read your post and I can’t believe I missed that! I’m glad you’re ok. I’m always scared of getting hit by a car. I think that is a cyclist’s worst nightmare (because losing your bike).
