I had my third adjustment today. It was absolutely dreadful. Everything was going according to plan until the girl changing my wire noticed two of my teeth were bonded together which was preventing one of them from making progress and had actually caused one of my brackets to break. Nice. The orthodontist had to drill the excess compound off which was disturbing but bearable. He was distraught by this hiccup in his otherwise perfect plan, but quickly modified today’s treatment. My mouth feels like a torture dungeon now. I have what they referred to as a "lace" around six of my top teeth. Then there is a rubber band thing connecting one end of the laced tooth train to the next tooth and a spring connecting the other end of the train to the last bracket on that side. Fortunately, the bottom teeth were spared this time. My next appointment is in two months so I have some time to recover from today’s traumatic visit. Also, it looks like the spring will help speed up the gap closure, so that’s all happy happy.
I fell in love with this little guy in Vegas but didn’t manage to bring him home with me. So I was surprised to see him sitting on the bed this morning holding a box of gourmet vegan chocolates. He must have found his way into Geoff’s luggage somehow.
Lucky me !!
I rarely check my mail. Sometimes the mail lady leaves nastygrams advicing me to clear my box. She threatens to return my mail to the post office. As pleasant as that sounds, it would actually be a pain to drive there and wait in line only to walk away with junk mail, which is the reason I don’t check the mail to begin with. Anyway, I’ve been working on my issue but lapsed this past week. I finally remembered to check today and boy I’m glad I did. There was a package in there from my friend. She sent me this super cool Livestrong tank. The tag even has a picture of Lance ! I’m planning to save it for my Half Marathon next month, but it will be hard.
Every now and then she manages to get one or two pebbles out, but mostly, the feeder has been Kissy Fit proof which is to say the thing couldn’t be more robust.
We decided to try Chin Chin in New York New York because it’s one of the few restaurants on the strip with a vegan-friendly reputation. Our waiter informed us that all the sauces (except the vegetarian sauce) are meat based, which was good to know since I didn’t read that tidbit on any of the review sites. It’s fair enough though since they’ll gladly make any dish with the vegetarian sauce and you can sub tofu for any meat. They also have sorbet for dessert ! We shared a rice noodle dish with veggies and an eggplant dish with brown rice. They were both excellent.
